Naeem Khan Fall 2011 Collection

Might as well roll a red carpet down the runway.

What we love about Naeem Khan in general and this collection specifically is that he doesn't resort to ridiculously fussy folded-napkin dresses or cliche goddess gowns for his brand of drama and beauty. He adorns his dresses; with feathers, appliques, sequins, prints and any element that will bring drama and glamour to its maximum levels. His work is like couture in the sense that it's so heavily and impeccably detailed. This collection induced gasps and cheers and a standing ovation, so impressive was the array of gowns before the crowd. It was definitely one of the major highlights of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. You can expect some catfights among certain stylists and Academy Award-nominated actresses for some of these looks, although sadly, a lot of celebs will stay away from the prints and they're among our favorite pieces. Michelle Obama is among the many famous women who have worn his pieces before. Let's play "Dress Shelley O," darlings. Definitely the black with red lace in the first row, but we're also loving the silver Art Deco halter in the sixth row. But let's face it, the First Lady is going to have to get in line like everyone else because these gowns are definitely going to be highly coveted by a lot of women used to getting their way.
